Re: Need to Swiftly Rezone Far West Village C6-1 District
Dear Director Burden:
I was glad that the Department announced this fall that they were willing to change the C6-1 zone in the Far West Village as community groups have been urging for nearly two years. This change is long-overdue and absolutely necessary.
However, I am concerned that months after the announcement and nearly two years after the original request, City Planning has still not publicly presented a rezoning plan or begun to formally move ahead with the process.
I strongly urge the Department to publicly present its plans for changing the Far West Village C6-1 zone no later than February — it is essential that this process move forward immediately as there as so many potential development sites in this area.
Please do not delay any further.
