The Village is fortunate to have numerous historic districts and individual landmarks within our area. Many of these buildings and districts are both New York City landmarks designated by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission and are also listed on the State and National Registers of Historic Places.
All of the State and National Register listing reports are available online through the website of the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation. The links will take you to PDF versions of these reports, or you can browse the online index.
Many, although not all, of the designation reports for NYC landmarks and historic districts are available online, too. More recent listings can be found through the LPC’s website. In addition, the Neighborhood Preservation Center has recently embarked on a project to create an online database of all of the LPC designation reports for the entire city. Although this great resource is still being developed, many designation reports for districts and buildings in the Village are already available online.
